Honoured in 1996 as “the prettiest town in Canada”, once you have been to Niagara-on-the-Lake, you will know why. This place will take your heart hostage, and not want to release it.
Best known for the gorgeous Queen Street area of Old Town, there are also world class vineyards, amazing cuisine, and the Shaw Festival, offering an exciting new slate of live theatre each year. As the former capital of Upper Canada, Niagara-on-the-Lake boasts a colourful history, including playing a key role in the War of 1812. Fort George and Fort Mississauga remain, and across the Niagara River you can see the Fort Niagara stronghold.
Outside of town, you will find the villages of St. Davids, Virgil, and Queenston, as well as the new development of Niagara on the Green. Each offers its own unique blend of old and new, but all afford you a peaceful and beautiful setting to live, grow and thrive.
